Writer. Web gal. Editor for Focused on Health, MD Anderson Cancer Center's healthy living newsletter. Author of two travel guides about Houston. I communicate complex stuff in simple ways, and I usually use digital media to do it.
I communicate complex information — particularly health topics — in simple, consumer-friendly terms. And I often use digital media to do it.
Currently, I am a communications specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. In this capacity, I develop strategic communications campaigns that raise awareness about healthy living and cancer prevention.
I also take on a small number of freelance editorial and digital media consulting projects.
Over the last eight years, I have worn many hats — freelance magazine writer, travel guide author, copywriter, blogger, editor, project manager and consultant. I’ve worked with magazines, health organizations, book publishers and even individuals looking to develop their online presence.
A broad range, for sure. But I see glimmers of those experiences in the dynamic content and communications strategies I develop today.
While my career keeps me on my digital toes, my offline life tends to be more predictable. My free time is usually filled with runs with my high-energy beagle, yoga, baking, good books, smells of my husband’s culinary creations, friends and family.
